"As a recreational runner, I've always thought a Marathon was something for the more "hard-core" runner types. As much as I've always dreamt of stepping up to the challenge, I always had excuses why "now wasn't the right time". When I learned about MineSweepers, I was so inspired my their mission and dedication I realized now WAS the time, and threw all excuses out the window. Running has taken on a different meaning to me. I'm not only running for myself, but also running for those who, because they're either no longer with us or not able-bodied, are unable to run, or even walk. I'm looking forward to reaching (and exceeding) both my fundraising and physical goals in honor of those who's lives have been so negatively impacted by the presence of landmines in their native lands."
