"Reflecting on this journey to raise money for land mine clearing, I have come to the realization that sacrifice is necessary to make change. Progress only comes with the will to implement change. Personal growth comes from the desire to seek that change. Sir Winston Churchill said, “Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

It is my goal to get to the end of my journey at the culminating event, the marathon in Washington D.C. It is my hope that through my efforts and those of my teammates, we may bring awareness to others of the detriment of land mines and contribute to the clearing of land mines around the world.
